1. About ChatGPT Extractor

ChatGPT Extractor is a browser extension that helps you export conversations from chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com. The marketing website does not run exports for you; exports run in your browser after you install the extension.

2. Chrome Extension Data Practices

This section describes how the ChatGPT Extractor extension handles data when you use it on chatgpt.com or chat.openai.com.

  • Conversation and page content. When you choose to export, the extension reads the conversation content and related assets available on the page (such as messages and media you select) in order to build the export file you download.
  • Local processing. Conversation content is processed locally in your browser to generate the export file. We do not upload your chat history or export contents to ExtensionsFox servers.
  • Local storage. The extension may store settings and subscription or license status locally in the browser (for example via Chrome extension storage) so the product can function for you.
  • No sale of chat data. We do not sell, rent, or share your exported conversations with third parties for advertising.

3. Information We Collect (Website, Billing & Support)

Separate from local chat export, we may collect limited information when you use our websites or contact us:

  • Communications. If you email us for support, billing, or troubleshooting, we receive the information you include (such as your email address and message content) so we can respond.
  • Payment and subscription. If you purchase or subscribe, payment details are handled by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems; we may retain subscriber or order-related information needed to provide the Service (for example email, plan status, and transaction references available through the processor).
  • Website technical data. Like most websites, our servers or hosting providers may automatically receive basic request data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used to operate, secure, and improve the website.

Chat content processed by the extension for export remains on your device unless you choose to share the downloaded file yourself.

6. Data Retention & Your Choices

  • Local extension data. You can clear extension storage or uninstall ChatGPT Extractor at any time through your browser settings. Uninstalling stops further local processing by the extension.
  • Export files. Downloaded files are stored where you save them on your device or cloud drives you control; we do not host those exports.
  • Support and billing records. We retain support correspondence and subscription records only as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal or accounting requirements, or resolve disputes.
